Aidan Pollard landed the first salmon of the season caught at Waters Meet. Amazingly the fish weighing 11lb was caught on the first cast of the short session on a FW Dart. The same fly was taken by another two salmon of which one was landed. Three salmon hooked in 1.5 hours, not bad going, as they say up here. Lots of fish showing as the South Tyne freshet cleared.
